Describes how an attractive, adulterous actress turned her mild-mannered professional husband living a genteel suburban life in London into the most reviled criminal of Edwardian England; how an observant sea captain using the latest new radiowave technology of the day started a dramatic transatlantic sea chase culminating in the arrest of the fugitive Dr Crippen by a senior Scotland Yard detective disguised as a river boat pilot.
The talk looks at how modern day DNA analysis and a re-examination of the trial evidence both shed further interesting thoughts on the trial of Dr Crippen and the safety of his conviction.
