A Moorland Walk from Mytholmroyd to Todmorden
A slightly earlier than usual start due to the constraints of bus services.
Meet at Hebden Bridge Hope Street bus stop to catch the 10:18 901 bus to Cragg Vale School (10:31). For those of us coming from Tod i would suggest the 09:49 590 from Tod bus station to Hebden (10:04) IF they are running to time.
Cross over the road and turn down Church Bank Lane which we follow past the Hinchcliffe arms and Cragg Old Hall all the way up to Withens Clough Reservoir. A long but steady climb on a very quiet country lane.
Circle round the reservoir and take the moorland path over the ridge to Withens Gate.
Then it is a long descent to Mankinholes.
From there we can take the path from behind the Top Brink down to Causeway Wood Road/Woodhouse Road and then a gentle walk along the canal towpath into Todmorden.
The walk is around 5 - 5 1/2 miles, all on decent paths with little wet/boggy areas.
