The Group's first walk of 2025 walk will take place on Tuesday 28th January, starting from Todmorden Bus Station at 10:30am. We'll walk up towards the train station and then up Doghouse Road to Pleasant View and take a high level route around the back of the park to Ewood Lane. We'll then walk down to Burnley Road, turn towards Burnley and walk the short distance to Stoney Royd Lane.
From there we'll head up to the hills in the direction of Whirlaw. This is a long, fairly steep climb so, for the benefit of us oldies, we'll take it at a relatively slow pace! Once up at the top, we'll take the Calderdale Way, passing below Whirlaw and then dropping down to Wickenberry.
From there we'll walk over to the Golf Club and down Cross Stone road to Burnt House. Then down past the Tennis Club, along Woodlands and over the railway via the "Iron Bridge". From there, down Stansfield Road and back to the Bus Station. Total distance is about 5 to 5.5 miles.
