When: | on Tuesday mornings Start times are usually mid-morning to allow for use of bus passes to reach the starting point. |
Venue: | The Great Outdoors |
Typically we will meet mid morning dependent on bus connections to the nominated start point. This will be made clear walk-by-walk, with a walk taking about 2 to 2 and a half hours excluding travel to and from.
Walks are intended to be of the order of three miles, where possible using public transport to get to the start point, and are intended mainly to be located in the upper Calder Valley, i.e. Hebden or Tod.
As of March they will take place on the third Tuesday of each month, with the last one being held in October.
Terrain may include stiles and gates, grass and hard paths, keeping any road walking to a minimum.
I wasn't going to start until March, but was encouraged to start in February by a member, who unfortunately is now unable to attend.
I am unable to devise for or lead all of the walks. Notably, I can't do either May or June this year.
I would like to encourage members to offer their own walks for the group too.
