Seven members took part in this walk of six miles on Saturday 12th October. We started at Callis Bridge, having been favoured by the bus timetables in both directions coinciding nicely there. We started on the route of the Pennine Way route through Callis Woods, and then drifted over to the Pennine Bridleway. The long path known as London Road afforded spectacular views on a bright day.
Deviating from the planned route, we crossed Mankinholes hamlet beside the Youth Hostel taking a direct path across the fields to emerge in Lumbutts adjacent to the Top Brink pub. We took a refreshment break just after leaving Lumbutts, and continued via Oldroyd, Kilnhurst and the canal tow path into Todmorden town centre.
